Thank you everyone for your assistance and knowledge. I have decided to return the smoke hollow as I didn't want to deal with the hassell of trying to mod it. In the end it actually ended up as a good thing as I found an amazing deal on a MES40. I'm hoping I won't have any trouble using the AMNPS in the new smoker.

Your chances greatly improve with the MES40 but if you still have trouble you can go the mailbox mod route. Best of luck!

Hey everyone,

I am brand new to smoking and just bought a Smoke Hollow ES230B 30" smoker (https://www.samsclub.com/sams/smoke...MIwbOwrdjy3wIVC7bICh2O9gWlEAQYBCABEgI1HvD_BwE). It looks to be very similar to the MES30 gen 2.5. I have been trying to use the AMNPS however no matter what I do I can not keep the pellets lit. I have been putting it on the bottom rack on the right hand side and have followed all the tips I can and I get a nice red glow before placing it in the smoker. Once in the smoke it will not stay lit. I am thinking it may be an airflow problem? The main difference that I notice is the Smoke hollow to not have a side chip loader or any sort of intake valve that I can find like the MES30 has. Any ideas on what to do?
I know this is late but for anyone else with this problem. I have the exact same model. I put mine on the center of the bottom rack tented with foil. I set a small fan behind the smoker pointed at the grease drain hole and made a funnel out of foil to push a little air in and don't have a problem with it going out. I

have the top vent open all the way.
