has anyone smoked chicken for an hour or so then fried it? interesting to imagine biting into. im wondering if the smoke would come out strong in the oil? maybe fry it then smoke it. mite get soggy?

yeaaaaa yeah i could maybe put liquid smoke in the batter but im not a fan. and surly never tried frying with it.

what does smoked fried chicken bring to your mind? just pondering it again today. lol

I have done a smoked turkey and then into a turkey fryer. It was very good. I bet you could do it with chicken too. If you did battered fried chicken the batter would probably lock the smoke flavor in. If you try it let us know how it turns out.

I have done smoked baked potatoes and they are fantastic. I bet you could do it that way and then mash them. Or make the mash and smoke like you would a Mac and cheese.

It's a bit of a pain, but if you really want to go big on both presentation and smoke flavor, make some smoked hasselback spuds. DRKsmoking DRKsmoking made a post, alternating onion and bacon, but there's plenty of options (I like tucking a 1/2 leaf of sage, sliced long-ways, in each crevice, using a butter knife). If the slices don't want to separate without breaking the potato, just wait 10-20 minutes into the cook for it to soften and open up. Choose your fat (garlic-infused butter or duck fat are my go-to's) and adjust seasoning appropriately.

At some point, I'd be curious to stick a long sprig of rosemary into my smoke tube with the pellets, see if I can get some delicious rosemary smoke going.

I grilled chicken with Italian seasoning and added it to spaghetti sauce.
Made a nice chicken cattatore.
Brought out the flavor for both the chicken and the sauce.
Frying? IDK
Might make the oil taste weird ?
Oil smokes @ higher temps.
Playing head games with the bird !? LOL!
🍗😮!
