Im new to the offset world.
I just got the Brazos and i have hard time keeping fire on. my fire spreads to much in the firebox and after couple hours there is not enough to catch the next piece of wood and it never really catches. Im using the charcoal plate that comes with it.
Im think i might take to grill grates and make a v shape so it all in one place similar to the lone star grillz product.
Please tell if its a bad idea or i should go for it.

Welcome to SMF from Minnesota. I have a flat bottom fire box and I just keep the coal bed and fir off to one side and it works well.
