Hello all, just bought an Oklahoma Joe's longhorn reverse flow smoker. Finished all my mods including welding the firebox. Did my first smoke in snowy and windy conditions and it turned out great. Had two issues though, the gasket on the fire box didn't hold and the temperature on both sides was 20 degrees different

Correction**** the gasket on the firebox lid didn't hold up

Yeah, right place.. ! 20° is good. You can put the thicker stuff by the hot area.. and you can move stuff around and give it time.. moving food or using water pan in different places is part of the trial and error.
Wish you luck. You'll get it down by end of summer I'm sure..

Maybe it was too cold for the gasket to properly adhere to the firebox. As for temp differences I don't think 20* is to bad side to side.
