Hi All,
My name is Doug. My wife, four children, and myself live in Jacksonville FL. I would consider myself more than a casual smoker but definitely not an expert - maybe an enthusiast? I've been smoking meat on a regular basis for about 7-8 years and grilling since my teens. Recently purchased a Smoke Hollow LP 44" smoker. Previously, I was using a MasterBuilt electric and offset barrel smokers before that. With four kids, I had to get away from "purist" aspect of tending the fire and decided to go the electric/LP way. As far as a grill goes, I have only used a Weber charcoal grill. That's what Dad taught me cook on and I see need to change. I considered going gas when life got busier years ago (wife, 4 kids), but someone suggested a charcoal chimney and it worked great. The wife will even fire it up when I'm on my way home from work if we are pushed for time.
Well, I think that's the basics. I look forward to meeting some good people and learning a few things.
Doug
