Been a while since I was last able to cook and post.

Finally after getting moved into the new house, a trip to two Lowes and spreading a bunch of dirt in the yard Its time to cook up a family fave, tri tip.

I have never seen tri tip at Walmart till the other day, Angus Choice, 8.29 a lb, couldnt pass it up. Usually I can only gind tri tip around here at Earth Fare and on a rare occasion, Publix

Let it come up to room temp and rubbed it down with a mutt of a rub I had in the spice drawer, sadly never will be able to recreate it, oh well

Rub has pepper, salt, paprika, rosemary, brown sugar and idk what else.

Threw it in the MES with a mix of apple and hickory and let it go for about 1.5 hrs till it hit approximately 130.

As it reached 120, fired up the grill for a bit of reverse sear action.

All the while this going, making up some risotto to go with the tri tip.

Got a nice sear and let it rest for a bit under some foil while I finished up the risotto and veggies, corn for me and the boy, brocolli for the with and daughter.

Nice thin slices, juice in the plate is from the rest, next to nothing on the cutting board

And lastly an obligatory smoker and bourbon shot

Thought Id taken a pre-sliced pict and was too hungry to take a plated pict.

Was super moist and a delicious piece of meat.

Congrats all the way around.
Pour the juice over your taters or veggies
Where are you located as in Publix territory? Publix had a BOGO on TT not long ago.
Orlando Costco Business Center used to have TT at $3.99/# Sadly it was $5.79/# last trip
