New here and new to smoking meats.

My name is Scotty. I live in the Hudson valley in New York. I have a trail embers smoker and am attempting smoking my first set of Ribs tomorrow. Hopefully all will go well. Any tricks on controlling tempature. I'm most concerned with that I think. I enjoy football, beer, and good conversations. Look forward to getting to know you guys.
