New gravity 1050 question

Hey guys. Just got this rig fired up doing burn in and have a question for those with one. I have a ton of smoke rolling from around the hopper but not much coming through the grill it seams. I have chunks in hopper and a couple in ash pot.

Yep. I was sure to do that. Very odd like the hopper isnt sealed

Sounds like the hopper lid or ash pan door has a leaky gasket

Is the fan coming on?
My 560 leaks smoke everywhere until it heats up a bit.

Thanks everyone. Yes the fan is working. I took the heat shields off and tightened everything down including the latches. Bout to fire it up so fingers crossed. Thanks again all!!

Been fired up with some chunks in the bin for a bit now and very little leakage. Thanks again!! Any other tips and tricks are always appreciated haha

I don't know about exceeding the amount of wood in the coal bin but do not over stuff the ash catch basket with wood chunks, it will get really hot.
I like to add a chunk every hour in the ash bin (in addition of course to the chunks I salted in with the charcoal stack).

Well worked great yesterday . this morning the fan wont turn on.
