Hello all from Eastern NC. I found this site a few days ago looking for smokehouse ideas. I have enjoyed reading through tons of information and am excited to learn tons more from other areas of the site. I currently smoke on a WSM and am hoping to build a smokehouse soon.

Welcome to SMF mpatty. I can’t help you with the smokehouse but many people here can I’m sure. Thanks for joining and share your cooks with us.
I was born and raised in Greenville, NC. Lived there for 34 years. Grew up on whole hog chopped bbq with vinegar sauce.

Welcome from Southeast Mississippi. This is a great forum. Lots of good folks with a ton of knowledge on here. I learn something new all the time. What's really great about the site is, if you have a question, just post it. You will get several responses.

Johnny Ray, I work in Greenville and live in Farmville. I know the bbq you speak of and love it...only problem is finding a good brisket around here.

Yep. Eastern NC is certainly not the home of good brisket. Sam Jones in Winterville has brisket according to his new cookbook. Haven’t been there yet. I’m planning a trip over in September. May try it then.
My favorites were Pete Jones in Ayden and B’s in Greenville. Of course I grew up eating Parker’s.

Happy New Year!
