I'm teamlarryboy...a login/user/title used for 30+ years for everything from fantasy football to online video games to forums.
50 years, first time smoker owner. Been a Weber gas griller for 20.
Landed a Masterbuilt 40 electric with all bells & whistles on Black Friday.
First attempt was vegetables that came out tasting like ciggerette butts! Apparently more is not always better related to amount of smoke.
Redeemed the wife & 2 teens with New Orleans style buttery garlic shrimp (readily available on gulf coast).
Undertaking first shot of leg quarters now. Working up to doing a whole turkey for Christmas. Advise is welcomed!

Welcome to SMF. I know you will enjoy your MES alot. If you haven't done so sign up for the free 5 day e-course. It will give you lots of info to help smoke better.

As for the smoker if you have white billowing smoke then your food will taste bad. You want it thin and blue. Remember if you can smell the smoke then your smoking.
