The furry kids are getting some chainlink installed for their yard.

Yes, putting up a fence is not fun. I did when I got stationed on the Mississippi gulf coast, about an acre worth of land that came out to 800 feet of fencing. 4x4 posts, hog wire, 1x4x8 wood slats, with a walk through and vehicle gate. Luckily I had some help and got it done in a few days. The dogs loved it as before the fence, they only had a small little area off the back of the house fenced off. The biggest bonus for me was I didn't have to clean up the poop!

I thought about doing a fence when we move up to CO off the back of the house, about a half acre worth of land. We have deer constantly crossing our land, and many around the house and garage. After seeing all the deer, an occasional elk or three, bears, and bobcats I decided no on the fence. My wife draws a deer tag most years and hunts off the back deck. She hasn't missed on yet. We are in the mountains in rural area. The dog is never out by himself, and I always carry when I go out with him, just in case.

That will be nice . I don't have a fence , but the neighbors have all done their yards . Just the returns at the house are open . My Cattle dog never needed to be told to stay in the yard , but since she's old , and mostly blind , she gets confused and doesn't know where she's at . Wish I would have closed it off now , but not much time left for the old girl .

When our stockade finally bit the dust. We replaced it with chain link. Just over 3/4 of an acre. It wasn't bad since we reused the 4x4 posts.

Too much work for me. We hired a fence company.
Looks solid. I hear ya. I have started to come to the realization that its ok to pay the experts to get stuff done. I'm just gonna hurt myself trying and its not worth it.

They didnt dig holes or use concrete. They had this machine they put on top of the poles, one guy worked the big level and the other guy used the machine. It drove 8' poles into the ground 4'....fancy smancy.. the poles are solid.
