Camp Chef has upgraded their controller to PID and I called them to find out if it would retrofit to my older Woodwind. They said yes it is a plug and play for my unit so I ordered one. I am excited to see the improvements in temp and smoke.

Let us know the results. Happy New Year!!

Hope it gets you where you want to go, a lot of folks want a stick burner flavor out of pellets and you cant do it with pellets imo but you end up with great food no matter.

I know it won't give the same smoke profile that a stick burner does as I have a stick burner. My goal is better temp control and better smoke production. I hope it works as well as some have said.

And the cost to upgrade is . . . . ?

It should be compatible. My Woodwind is three years old and they said it is backwards compatible.
