Hey guys im a new comer to the forums, and have been smoking for a year or so now so im still new to the game.

Today iv just started smoking about 16lbs of butts, one is from my own hog that i shot last month. I used one store bought rub , and am experimenting with one that i made from scratch as well. Excited to see how it turns out.

Also excited to learn from yall and get diffrent insights about the smoking process! Hopefully i can be of some help too.
Here is a few pics of my smoke today

Lookin' good so far!  Looks like this is your first post.  When you get the chance, stop over in the Roll Call Forum and tell us all a little about yourself.  It'll give the members here a chance to give you a proper SMF welcome.

Good luck, and Happy Smokin'!

This is an ongoing debate here, so opinions vary, but I think soaking chips is a waste of time.  They won't start producing smoke until the water evaporates.  But either way, you gotta stoke the chip box/tray pretty regularly.  (depending on the size of the box/tray, every hour or so for as long as you want to get smoke)  You should consider buying an AMNPS from A-Maze-N products.  A little smoke generator that will produce up the 10-12 hours of perfect, thin blue smoke on one load of pellets.  Check it out...Todd, the owner, is a regular member here, and a great guy to do business with.

Well here is the finished product from last night ! They turned out great! Pulled them suckers off right around midnight, so about a 14 hour smoke they went through
