New Camp chef Woodwind question

I put my Woodwind together today and fired it up. Noticed a lot of smoke pouring out the sides of the door. Seems like there is quite a gap at the very bottom of the door like the contour of the door doesnt match the shape of the grill. Is this normal? Has anyone else seen this?

Mine does the same. There is a fix that uses a felt seal that some folks use. Camp Chef says that the smoke leakage is normal.
