I'm considering on building a new vertical direct heat smoker. I currently own the brinkman vertical with mods. But its just to small. Anyways I have a general design in my head but I'm unsure if I should use stainless steel for the shell or just a standard steel. I know stainless doesn't rust but regular steel is cheaper. I guess I just need some input from everyone. What thickness steel would you consider also?
Thanks
Darren.

Yeah I did consider that, but I went the vertical design because I could stap it the carrier behind my motorhome.

Yeah I considered the drum, but I wanted the vertical design so I can stap it on back of my motorhome when I use the hitch mount carrier.
