Was using my Backwoods Chubby 3400 this weekend and had an issue. The lower door to fire box was sagging a bit (looks like the hinges were not tight enough). So the rubber seal on inside of lower door got to the diverter and melted, causing burning rubber smoke. Ruined a bunch of turkey thighs.
I contacted Backwoods and I am waiting, but I read somewhere a fireproof fabric gasket might be better than rubber. Does anyone know of this sort of thing? If I am going to pull the door and replace the rubber, I might as well do it right.
Thanks
