Hello everyone,

I have just completed building a new reverse flow smoker and was told I need to season the pit. What does everyone use to do it and how long? And would you put water in the water trap during the seasoning process? THANKS!!!!

Most guys just spray it down with Pam & let it run for a few hours.

Clean the inside, spray it down with vegetable oil or a fat of your choice. Then burn a clean fire for a few hours or until you don't smell paint or any left over residues. You don't need to get it crazy hot.
