need advice on a smoker..

I have a side fire box at home that I use alot. I am wanting buy a smoker to take camping, something that is easy to handle by 1 person. Have been looking at some of the ones with the water pan in them. Would like to have 1 that has 2 levels in it.

My thoughts would be a WSM if you want charcoal or a GOSM if you want propane

is there a sticky showing what the abbreviations mean? I was looking at a great outdoor SM today at Walmart for 69.00,propane.

I never have used a propane powered smoker, might make it easier when camping.

hey saltbranch,

you might consider getting a 22 inch weber kettle and just set it up for indirect heat. that way you could smoke or grill.
