I have never had such a hard time getting something from Amazon!

On Dec 3, I ordered the CharGriller Smokin' Pro. and was given a delivery date of the 8th of December. I kept watching the Track Your Order on Amazon and it kept saying it would be here on the 8th.  Well, I checked UPS website, and all it would show is that the Lable had been printed, but I thought, Ok, nothing to worry about

On Dec 7th I check Amazon, it says it would arrive today! So, I check UPS again, no change! So, after about 3 hrs, something tells me to call UPS, and I do, It seems that someone printed the label, but did not send it out to UPS!!!!

So, after another 3 hrs on the phone between UPS and Amazon, I am assured that it will be here no later than Dec 13th. So, ok, not much I can do but wait. Well, on the 8th, I check and WOW! It will be here TODAY! Only one problem....they are not only tearing up and putting new water and sewer lines on the street in front of the Mobile Home Park I live in, they are replacing a sewer line IN the Park! Problem? Nah, not much. They just have a trench 3 ft deep across the road back to my house!!!!

So, I have to call UPS, (I am by now on a first name basis with the gal at the St. George office) She contacts the driver, and we make arrangements to have him meet us at the front of the Park, we will bring a wagon to haul it home. Driver isn't sure when he will be there because his truck is packed, so he is gonna call when he gets here.  Ok, it is now about 7PM, I get a call from the gal at UPS, and she says it didn't get put on the truck!!! BUT, we can come get it at the St. George office tomorrow! (25-mile drive). Ok, fine, we will come get it in the morning. I am disappointed, but only have to wait till in the morning.

So, hubby and I are sitting watching TV and the dogs go crazy! Somebody is coming in the yard with a flashlight! (This is about 1/2 hr after I talk to the gal at UPS)  It was another UPS driver who volunteered to bring the package all the way out here!

We took the wagon back to where his truck was, he helped hubby load it and we got it home!

Well, next morning I was going with a friend to go Christmas Shopping, so I leave thinking we would unbox it and see what we have, when I get home.  About 4 hrs later, when I get home, I see it sitting in the yard, completely put together! SFB and main chamber are sealed, the smoke stack is sealed and has the stack extension, AND our neighbor, who is a welder made me a Charcoal basket!  It is perfect!!  Hubby is a painter, so putting the High-heat RTV was done with minimal over doing it, no oozing!

I found out that all the Videos and posts from this forum and other info I had put in a folder on the Desktop got used to put it together!!!  My hubby and neighbor were VERY busy for 4 hrs! and I am SO HAPPY!!!

Will post pics tomorrow!

Congrats.

It's a decent entry level smoker and will make some great barbecue. I've been using one for over 10 years now and made some great food.

Don't laugh, but I took the cover off it this morning, and it is SO pretty just sitting there, I don't want to build a fire in it that would ruin the paint!

I am going to, later today, but it is just so pretty!

I want to say Thank You to everybody that I pestered with all my questions! Smokin Al, DirtSailor, fpmich, Bearcarver, and many more! I am so grateful for all your help and your friendship!

Hubby and I want to wish everybody on the Forum a Very Merry Christmas, and a Safe, and Happy New Year!

Ok, here's the pics

The basket my friend made for me.

Got it going!

We have figured out where the leaks are, just waiting on the rope to seal the lids AND the 2 Thermometers!

One thing the guys did a little wrong.... they tightend the nut on the SFB too tight and we had a time adjusting the airflow.

It is ok, that can be fixed. LOL!

One thing I noticed, when they took it out of the box, and were putting it together, they said the Ash Drawer fit fine, it sat flush, but now it is curved at the outside edges and won't close all the way Got any ideas as to what I can do to remedy that??

Went out about an hour ago when the friends were leaving, and checked and it actually hit 300 degrees on the Therm that is mounted in the lid! (Found out hubby actually did what it said in the instructions and calibrated it!)  Still gonna put the 2 at Grill level, plus I have my wireless Therm for the meat.

Oh, yeah, the paint bubbled off the firebox, but that is what we bought the paint for!
