Like new bought in October of last year, Normally did great on a single or double loaf mix.

But last week on e double loaf mix of fresh milled white it stripped the head gears.
Not wanting to take it all apart and wait for the parts my wife said just sell it for being broke on FB market place and get another. Heck no, no more KA for me.

So

I got a Zacme
Puts the KA back to the 50s.

Bowl, whisk, dough hook and paddle are all SS and adjustable. 8.4qt, 11 speeds, timer, pause, light for bowl illumination, tilt lock back (will not run when tilted back).. Yes I have my spiral and Bosch mixer.

And our oven went south 2 days ago with a bad temp switch and main board. Got new being delivered tomorrow.

I'd guess your side gig is working those home items out harder than they were designed for. Nice new mixer!

Mine is literally from the 50s.I like things super simple and every appliance in my house is the most basic money can buy,no computer chips,LEDs and as few settings as possible. My pride and joy is my 58 year old Osterizer blender with nothing more than off,hi and lo.

Sucks about the oven. About 10 years back our oven decided it didn't want to turn off and had run away temps that went way beyond design. We were lucky and were able to find a basic 4 burner/4 knob Amana without anything else. It's to bad Speed Queen doesn't make ovens.

That Zacme looks pretty sweet!

my KA is at least 25 years old, bought it as a refurb. Couple Christmas's ago I bought a new one, it clunked and made all kinds of bad noises right out of the box - never used it. Old one still kickin

My KA is still kicking. Bought it from costco back in early 2000 somewhere. Wife used to make custom cakes and worked the heck out of it for a few years. I used it for bread for some time, then I used it for mixing my sausage batter.

Too hot to make bread right now, but may end up breaking it out this winter.

Glad you like your new mixer!

My KA is about 25 year's old and still going strong. I HATED the dough hook that came with it, but did manage to find a SS one that fit my bowl...works MUCH better! I do wish it had the bowl lift, though!

Back when I bough my Viking mixer, I chose it over the KA as it had metal gears and KA had plastic.
Don't know if that is still the case.

Don't feel bad. I've torn up 2 in the last 12 or 15 years. The one I got for Christmas this year broke about the 3rd time I used it. The bowl lift gear or holder or something broke. They sent me another one but I'm leery of it now. It breaks again and I'm going to take it out back and fill it full of cheap 9mm holes.

I use the cuber attachment more than anything else now. KA doesn't make one but I bought one off of Big Daddy Bezos' online flea market and Chinese emporium and it works fairly well.
