Thanks Bubonehead. The fire breathing dragon graphic you lined out for me came out great in mho.

The wood curled up in the sun so I straightened the planks, sealed them with spar varnish, and bolted them down so no more warping!

I've been practicing with the old girl and she's putting out good que. That's beef ribs, spare ribs, and chicken. Even my wife said it was good. Yeah!

Wow, that is awesome my friend! You really pulled off all the details. What did you use to cut it out? It looks great!

I love how much work space you have. An awesome rig all around!

Fantastic build Dragon's Breath, I haven't been on this site in a while, i am getting ready to do another and wanted to look around and see what people are building, found yours. I built a smoker a couple years ago, and now am ready to do another. I have a 500 gl.propane tank to build. I bought two of them one for my brother, one for me, he has his built and was a great build. Now I'm ready to get mine going. You are obviously a great fabricator. My welds look like crap, but they stick together. That's what they made grinder's for, right?

thanks for posting your build!

Greg

Thanks smoke-n-G. The funs in doing it and having it work. I would like to find a 500, but around here it's a no go. The best part is you can BBQ with your brother while you're building yours.

We done our first competition type bbq last month. I am heavily involved with Relay For Life, being a 3 time cancer survivor. We set up a campsite for our company Relay Team, we cooked some butts, and my brother came up with a concoction we call BBQ Fried Pies. We won first place in food for the Relay that night. It's fun.

That's a coincident, because my first Bbq comp was for Relay For Life. April 1 . I have been involved for several years now. Mostly doing photography fund raising at the event. I'm trying to talk our team leader into letting me Bbq next year. There wasn't much food this year and I think we can come up with a tasty product.

Thanks.

You know Jack I can't figure out what happened to the picture loader. But if you click on the IMG_3407a it should load.

I've made a little progress. The firebox is finished and welded and the door is cut and hinged. But the tank warped a little and I have to straighten before continuing. I do have the heavy duty firebox door closer fabbed up. I might put the smoke stack on next. If I quite messing around with my "little" smoker.

Some of the guys here said the towel rack looked more like a drunk bar. ha ha

Hey Dave......   Nice place to chill out....    Looks like the smoker comes in handy at "break" time......

This is the last of the season BBQ at work (yesterday).

We got the meat prep area full. Baby backs, chicken, tri-tip, 2 kinds of sausage, corn and 3 kinds of peppers

That's my partner from work. He's a brilliant cook.

My little smoker ran out of room again!

We had to wait for room for the sausages and peppers but it was worth it.

My advice to anyone building a large smoker - go for it. There will be times when you need all the space.
