Buffalo ranch wings
Pit temp: 325 F
Wood: cherry
Batter: 2 packets hidden valley ranch seasoning mix and 2 tbs Franks red hot sauce (the main ingredient is maltodextrin in the seasoning mix so it kind of creates a thin batter consistency)
Dipping sauce: 3 parts ranch and 1 part franks red hot

These wings are amazing. They must be cooked hot though to set the “batter”! At least 300 deg but preferably higher so the batter sets. Think oven fried wings but smoke flavor added. It definitely takes crispy wings to the next level.

They look awesome! Saved for later use. Thanks for posting

Your Buffalo Ranch Wings look awesome. Just picked up a 16 oz bottle of HV Ranch mix from Sams Club currently $2.00 off so I’m good to go!

on the dipping sauce ratio, is the 3 to 1 liquid or powder? 3 packets of ranch to 1 bottle of hot sauce?

have you done these on the Lang? I need my first cook to be stellar so the wife doesn't beat me in to submission for buying the 60D instead of the 48D

I should have clarified. Sauce is ranch salad dressing and franks red hot.
I did these on the kamado.

I like ranch and cayenne hot sauce. I have used that combo for making chicken sandwiches. Not sure why I never thought of doing up wings this way. How many lbs of wings is your 2 packets to 1 Tbs mix good for? Looks like you have around 3lbs or so, Im guessing.

Look forward to giving them a try as I have some wings sitting around in the freezer that I need to cook up.

Looks like yours turned out great.

I HAVE to stop looking at pics of cooked wings.... I'm drooling all over my shirt!

My first experience with a "Buffalo" style wing was deepfried wings, then shook in a sauce of 1/2 melted butter/ 1/2 Durkee's Red Hot.

They were delicious too!

Looks like a great recipe for wings Bking. We've only used ranch for dipping veggies in. Now I'll have to give the ranch wings a go.

Point for sure.
