here's a pic of me earlier today bringing in a nice Salmon. Both the wife and I came home with limits. We will give a lot away and then I will smoke the remaining

Nice fish! No salmon here in southern New England - stripers (striped bass) are our big game fish (unless you want to spend big $$$ and go for tuna). Happy smokin!

Man nice fish!! I’ve got some smaller chinook and king (40”) in the Vermillion River in Ohio but rare.

Wife and I were on the Hog Heaven out of Sausalito, CA.

Beautiful Salmon, Craig!!
Nice catches for Both of you!
What is the Limit out there?
Like.
BTW: Would I be right if I said yours was a Roe & Her's was a Buck??

Bear

Bear,
Limit is 2 per person. All were bucks. Just finished cutting up 2 of the 4 for us to give away, today. Will probably keep the other 2 for future smokes.

Tonight's dinner will be fresh bellies and collars on the grill.

Thanks all

WaterRat,
I also brought in a monster striper but gave it away to one of my fishing buddies who showed interest.

I thought that it looked familiar, I fish the H.H. 2 or 3 x a yr.
I mainly fish on my brothers boat but I have two friends that run boats out of Emeryville the Pacific Pearl and the Sundance.
It's been a good yr out the Gate and in the bay this year.
Dan

Cool. I don't smoke 'em but striper on the grill is great! I wasn't aware there was a striper population in the Pacific.
We are loaded with Striper's out here in the Ocean, Bays and freshwater rivers, lakes, and reservoirs.

And many have worms just like the big one I just gave away on Wednesday.

I'm not far away when you smoke those babies.
Only been out once but that was the best salmon I have ever had. It was years ago and just grilled.
Bought one online,King, fresh from Alaska last year. Smoked it and gave most to SIL for house warming. I made a smoked salmon pasta for them while visiting.

Hey Brentwood, CA. Yes, once one has successfully smoked some Salmon to their likings, you get hooked. Thanks god I have many pounds of what the wife and I catch. Lots of Salmon and Ling Cod............belch!

And Salmon don't?
Most fish has worms, which is why it's best to freeze fish before you eat it unless you plan on overcooking it.

Wife ended up giving most of her two fish away, which our Salmon freezer which is overflowing, says "Thank you".
