Gethenet as everyone else has said yes it will, I have a side firebox and fill it up to the opening, then make a depression in the middle. I pore one chimney of hot coal right in the middle and give it about 30 to 45 min. for the temp to settle in then start smoken. I get about 3-4 hrs out of that in the summer.
IB,
Thats great advice, I have just been dumping in the coal then poaring on to the top. The little divit will keep the hot coal in place. I also have a firebox on the side. Thanks
I do it a little different. I make a pile of larger pieces to the right, next to the opening to the main grill over to the center of the firebox. (Side firebox) I'll pour a chiney full on the side next to the door, air opening, then it burns left to right. If i filled it it would definitely get too hot.
