Hey all, this morning was tax day! Our tax lady had this posted in the waiting area!

Please keep in mind, I totally get there are some folks who cannot work for legitimate individual reasons!

I like it. I never understood how guys can stay home at let their wives work. One guy I know graduated from Yale, and law school. Almost 40 and living off of his wife no job.
Then there is another guy, disabled at his work. Fused back and neck insisted on working. All kinds of people in world.

Great thoughts. Solid philosophies of my generation and earlier. Thankfully my kids and their life partners act and believe the same way, but that kind of behavior doesn't make the news.

That cracked me up! I totally agree with your two examples of bad and good. My wife chooses to continue working while we bank my retirement income. She works upstairs while I'm writing, watching the Olympics, cooking, and taking naps downstairs.

In a way, for me, the work ethic is a bit of a curse. I am 72 and my SS and investments meet all my needs, but it scares me to think of not having "work" to show up for. So I still work 3 days a week, and enjoy it.

50+ years of behavior is hard to deny, I guess.

I don't go fishing every day that have perfect conditions but compared to so many years of 40 hour weeks, it feels like freedom.

That’s strong! I only disagree with the debt one. I’m not living in a tent with a wife and three kids until I save enough money to buy a home!

Justin, Unfortunately we have a portion of the current generation that believes the gov't owes them a living. :(

Great post Justin! Just one question...did you leave the accountants office with a smile?

Ryan

Thanks for sharing Justin !
I plan to post this in the office and see what kind of response I can get. They think I can over on the Mayflower anyway 🤣. These are lessons my parents taught by example every day.

Now we are the United States of the Affended.

Not just in your country Keith,

Here it is the same , it's all what can I bitch about and receive more for . Without putting anything into it myself.

I working in the construction industry I have seen this so much in the last 2 years even more. You can stay home and say it is because of Covid
and be paid to stay home and not lift a finger and get paid by the government. Don't get me wrong it is good that the Gov. is helping out. But so many are abusing it. Many places were shut down ,so there is an assistance for this , that's good. But good healthy workers , just staying home because they can make almost as much by not working. Wrong.

I must add that the Gov. caught on and now they are giving less and the business you work for can say that there is work and no need for them to stay home for no good reason . And you will have to pay back if caught. GOOD

I must be OLD, I am starting to sound like Dad , and Now I am Proud of that.

Sorry some things just scratch me the wrong way , sorry for the rant

David

My wife and I lived in a 12x20 tent for 5 weeks each year while elk hunting and vacation... It was marvelous... gathering wood and water... sitting around the campfire having cocktails... Enjoying the peace, quiet and solitude... It was our 5 STAR hotel... An opportunity to wash and rinse the crap that had congested/infected our craniums...

And that's why we spend many weekends going to Rendezvous! In fact have a few crazy friends that have one every valentine's weekend! Except our hotel is only 12 x 14... so only 4 stars! Lol
