My iPad died and so did my desktop computer so I’m working off my phone which is a real PIA. I will try to keep up with what’s going on but I’m probably not gonna be on here much until I get this fixed. The iPad is under warranty but the desktop is not so I talked to Apple today and they said probably 10 days before I get a new iPad so if you guys don’t see me on here that’s why.

Bummer Al. Tech is great when it works... I'll miss ya! hope you get both fixed up nice and quick!

We'll be waiting, Al.

I avoid ALL updates that happen after Labor Day until the first of the year. I also turn off auto updates. Almost ALL the hardware I've replaced over the last fifteen years has occurred between those two dates. Computers and printers seem to be the most vulnerable.

I've been blasted lately with printer updates. Last year I bought a new printer in the Spring because a 10+ year old printer was getting too expensive to feed one new cartridge a month. The new high volume printer worked great (computer and phones) UNTIL I broke my own rule and did an update in the late Fall, then NOTHING worked. Had to wipe clean and reset factory settings based on purchase date to get it to work again.

It's merely anecdotal evidence on my part, but I wonder if late year updates are a sneaky effort by the companies to increase their Christmas sales. I receive fewer update notices after the first of the year.

More time for smokin!! Just take those pics and share later. LOL

I would be SOL if my laptop died. That is where my "culinary brains" (recipes) reside.

Sounds like your electronics may have been infected with the corona-virus Al. I think I'll run an anti-virus scan on my laptop just to be sure. :emoji_wink::emoji_sunglasses:

Hoping you're not down too long, Al, but I know the problem they can be.

A couple months ago, my "MacBook Pro" finally got so slow I couldn't stand it.
We figured it was just loaded with Crap, so Bear Jr took it to the "Apple Genius Bar".
They wiped everything off of it, and restarted it with New stuff. They had it from Friday until Monday, but there was NO CHARGE, and it works unbelievably now---Faster than ever before, including when it was Brand New!!!

Al, I use my phone most of the time. Some stuff actually seems easier.

Well hell. I got up this AM & the damn iPad started right up. So after spending half the day yesterday going back & forth with Apple, with no help. It just decided to start up this AM. So I’m back, wasn’t real happy using my phone, with my thick stubby fingers I always hit the wrong letter!
