As some of you may know I purchased my MES 40 a couple of weeks ago and have used it twice so far. Some how the trim around the door on top has cracked in half. I don't know how this happened since its been stored inside and not been abused in any way. I realize this is cosmetic but I don't think a trim piece should crack in just a couple of weeks. Do you think this should be replaced or will it work anyways. The door does not appear to be bent or distorted but its still kind of bothersome.

It may have had a small, hairline crack to begin with and the heat made it expand. Is it near the screw hole on the inside edge? I'm pretty sure if you call Masterbuilt Customer Service they'll send you out a new trim piece. I believe it's only 3 screws holding it in place.

Howdy, Beernuts!

I don't remember seeing where you bought the MES. If you got it at Sam's I'd be very surprised if they didn't just give you a new one in exchange.

Your first place for resolution should be the people you bought it from. Failing satisfaction from them, you should be able to get a replacement from Masterbuilt.

I purchased it at Cabelas since they had the new style in stock. I don't really want to pack it up and bring it back because of the size. I think I'll see if MB will send me a new one before I try to bring it back.
