What do I need to do to give the ole MES 30 a tune up? A couple weeks ago it set outside overnight cold, snow & rainy. Plugged it in & it beeps but no control buttons. Brought in the shop, warmed it up & off & running. This week after being inside out of the elements, acted up again. Tune up time? Thanks to who reply.

I donno, Tall.
It was rode hard, put up wet, and died from Pneumonia.

But OP, you may have wrecked the controller. Remove it and see if the connected plug is wet or damaged.
Try and dry everything out as best as you can.
If the controller needs replaced, use a PID controller.
And always cover your baby up.

Which reminds me, I'm going to go tuck mine in if it's cooled down now.
Tomorrows another day, and I've Salmon to finish.

Any recomendations on PID controllers?

This is the one Dr K has.
Looks good, the smoker plugs into it, and it senses the IT and controls it.
At $149.95, a bit steep for me at this point. But notable if one day the MES Messes up on me. ;)
