Does anyone use the Built in Meat Probe on the MES 30? I have and have been using the Maverick ET-732, but am curious on how accurate the Built in Probe is? What are your thoughts?
Yep, I do, I use an old time oven thermometer for temperature monitoring and and an instant read meat thermometer to make sure everything is working as it should. In almost year of owning it, this 30 Inch MES with a window I own has agreed with both thermometers at any and all points of the cook.
So I have no need to buy a maverick or anything like that!
hi Mandm25,
I, too have a MES 30 and have found my built in probe to be off about 18 degrees comparing it to my boil tested Maverick. I guess it's a crap shoot, judging by some other owners experience on this site, as to whether you get an accurate built-in probe.
GOOD LUCK,
