Hey there,

I have a question...I'm in Denver and have trouble finding good quality meat here. I used to live in Tulsa and could always find prime beef. I haven't seen bologna here that is worth anything and finding decent hot links are near impossible. Does anyone have suggestions or is there a mail order meat supplier that you use?

Thanks!

I can't speak for Denver but, general tip, keep an eye out for restaurant suppliers in your area, as some will do home delivery. We found one with wonderfully high-end products (enough at smaller-than-Costco-size) at fairly reasonable prices and order minimums that we could live with.

Even if the nearest farmer's markets are inconvenient, it's worth going a few times just to see which farms may have delivery options in your area.

I haven't used any delivery services but some people get excited about them.

Used to live in Denver, now in Utah. Costco is pretty consistently good here. Prices are about average. A good Kroger sale will be them on price tho.

I sued to use a butcher, but they priced me out very quickly and after going back to Costco and Kroger - the butcher quality just want worth and more money to me.

I have mail ordered a bit from Certified Piedmontese. Its pretty tasty.

Try Prosper Meats, they offer free shipping in Colorado with an order over $75.00. There are also a few meat markets in the Denver area that offer Wagyu just google wagyu beef in Denver. Flying B bar ranch is just North of Denver area, Colorado Craft Butchers,Olivers Meat Market, and Proudsouls are a few.

There's so much good stuff online these days, search and you will find. The big thing is so much is regionally sourced but so many folks these days in those regions are willing to ship at decent rates.

Thanks for the input, good suggestions. I usually go the Costco route for briskets or pork shoulder. That's usually good for those cuts. I've never made my own bologna or sausage. I'll have to do that though!!!

h8that4u, I've gotten meat from Olivers before and it's always been good quality but their price is a bit high. I'm getting a prime prime rib from proud souls bbq for Christmas, that should be good. I've also gotten meat a few times from Sam's meats in Aurora. Not exactly my neck of the woods, but they have had good meat when I've gone there in the past.
