McRib or a woman?

Hey FIU,

Isn't it funny, people on this site smoke spam, bologna, and all kinds of other "funny" stuff, but they wrinkle their nose at a McRib?

I leave my office for lunch...every day. I do this for a couple of reasons, first I want to eat my lunch in peace without people tracking me down to deal with their latest emergency, and also to clear my head. I go wherever, and sometimes that includes McDonalds...if they have McRibs! They will even have specials where you buy one, and get a second for a buck...I'll take two please! But this is from a person that will hit the drive thru at a place called (no lie) Go Chicken Go for 1/2 lb of Chicken gizzards with hot sauce and a Coke.

I don't personally care for Spam myself, curious about turkey spam though, and I agree, sure the McRib may be made from mystery meat but there is no arguing at its deliciousness which I will admit would be even better if there were some smoke flavor.
Maybe I can get some rib shaped patties and sauce from McD'd and throw them in the smoker...sure couldn't hurt.

So Go Chicken Go, really?
I love the name, you have gotta get a picture of that place for me!

You don't care for Spam??? That's almost the most perfect food. Ok, maybe not. LOL. I live about 30 miles from the Hormel plant in Austin Mn. It's kinda mandatory to have a can or 2 in the house here in Mn.

I have wanted to try slices of Spam on some ABT's sometime instead of the bacon, I think that would be good.

And don't tell anyone, but I like the McRibs as well.

LOL! You had me going there until I realized it was April fools...oh wait a minute! Oh! Oh! Ohhhh!

Here's a pic of their logo, which I think is kinda funny too, and a blurb from their website. Awesome gizzards and hot sauce!

Today Go Chicken Go has become well known for great tasting chicken, the best gizzards and livers and the mouth-watering secret hot sauce “G-Sauce”.

Dana, you are ab-soh-loot-lee right on that one. How can we love bloomin' spams and hate the McRib? I dunno, man....mebbe it's becaues of that sickeningly sweet sauce it's buried under...who knows?

But I do know you are dead on the Spam and Bologna thing....plus anyone who has smoked "scrapple" is under suspicion as well, and I know I've read at least one post on that...

Gots to say I LOVE gizzards and hot sauces, but this ad has me wondering about their mouth-watering hot secret G-Sauce. Sounds great!

I ain't scared, I have eaten them before and suspect I would again. They are kind of in the same class as White Castle or Krystal "Sliders" Don't eat too much or you may be sorry

I'll bet anybody $20 bucks we see a McRib Fatty within 30 days.

Don't let me down brother. I've seen what you can do with Taco Bell, let's see what you do to McDonald's.

Not a McRib fan, but those Filet O' Fish...now that's seafood baby!!!!!!!!

Dr. Phil: When you were growing up as a child, how were you abused? Didn't your Mother feed you right? In order to cure you of this obsession, we will bring in DR. Ruth. Did you're Mother breastfeed you or just give you Pop-Tarts? Dr. Benjamin Spock, what is your take on this crazy obsession. This child was given too much freedom and despite all of my prior crap, this child need to be taken to the wood shed. I guess this explains this fetish with processed food.

Jury is in, the woodshed is the proper punishment for your transgression.

I personally love the sandwich! I never considered it bbq. I think whoever said a Big Mac is not a buger hit it right on the head. I like what I like so I'm gonna eat it! :p

Whoa...
I am shocked, dismayed, confused, upset, scared, and quite frankly a little wierded out by your post. I am trying to work this out in my head and feel like I should remind you that the first step in solving your problem is to admit that you have a problem. Here on SMF you are among friends, hell almost family,so count on us to be there for you even at rock bottom.

I believe if you think something tastes good, then it does.

I note with some pride that only Vancouver way Out in the far wilds of British Columbia is the only place in Canada admitting to even having any Mcribs. And We here in the great white north all know that the folks in Vancouver are all a little wierd anyway.

That would explain why I have never had one.

I do eat hotdogs though and love them, and they certainly have a questionable pedigree.

Beef is from cows, Pork is from Pigs, Lamb is from Sheep.
Spam is from Naugas, I have never seen a Nauga but I have seen the hide made into couches and Jackets.

Perhaps the Mcrib sandwich is made from the ribs of a Nauga.
I'm willing to be proved wrong but untill then That is what I intend to believe.

I don't mean to be a food snob. Many years ago I used to enjoy a McRib myself, but McRib is to BBQ what Velveeta is to cheese. There is a resemblance. However, in reality they are two totally different things. It's like Olive Garden vs. Italian food or Red Lobster to seafood. I don't want to get anyone riled up as there is a time and place for everything. Please though, give your taste buds their due. It's not about "filling your hole". The best stimulation comes from challenging the flavor profiles, not merely eating to eat. I hope y'all understand what I'm trying to say.

Dude, you just may have to eat those words

If I obtain the Holy grail of fast food fake BBQ goodness known as the McRib I just might roll that S.O.B in some sausage, if I do you have to take that $20 and smoke yourself one fine chuckie meal or a pastrami or something.

No worries, hell, if you were a "food snob" you would turn your nose up at half of the great meals we consider excellent BBQ.
I like to think I have a pretty good and diverse pallet, have tried and experienced so many different spices, dishes and culturally diverse dishes as well as worked in the restaurant business for many years and created many fine meals but no matter how something is prepared taste buds don't lie and good is good.
Though the McRib definitely is not what any one of us would consider BBQ there is no denying how good it is, gross as it may seem I ask that if you have never tried one then give it a shot. Bite into it with no biased, no expectations of smoke or true Q flavor but a burst of goodness, allow it to fill you with all of its High Fructose and MSG goodness which I'm sure it is full of, but then again how many sauces, rubs, even bread and cereals, good majority of them contain either MSG or HFCS.
Heck, I like Italian food and I think many dishes at Olive Garden are really good, especially their Zuppa Tuscana soup, man that is good soup! Pretty much one of the rare times you will find kale in a dish as an ingredient as opposed to a garnish.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that it is finger lickin good...wait, wrong place

I actually do not care for KFc, really greasy and really dry.
Where's my Go Chicken Go!?
