When I used my tray last winter in my MES 40 for some cheese, it raised the temp about 20 degrees.  The outdoor temp was around 40 or so at the time.

IT will also depend on whether you are using dust or pellets, and to some degree, the type of pellets you're using.  Some do burn hotter than others.

The best way to know for sure is to experiment a bit.   A tray full of pellets is far less expensive than losing a batch of cheese.
