maverick not mshowing bbq temp HELP

making ribs and my receiver doesn't show smoker temp just threre slashes - all controls work need help QUICK  THANKS

If turning off then back on doesn't work and the batteries have been changed take the other probe out and use it to see if you get a reading

just my 2 cents. i know it is probably my stupidity but i never got mine to work at all. i tossed in a box that is going to the shed. i have some old probe thermometers that i use. but, you gotta go out to check them.
