So I got this maverick et-732 thermometer so I could get some sleep and not worry about my BGE shutting down and I set the min and max temps. But I can't seem to figure out how to lower the min or max temp. Once it is set it just stays there and while I can raise it I can't seem to lower it. I turned the receiver off, i even took out the batteries, but it still defaults to the 210 min temp and i can't figure out how to lower that. can anybody help me?

Here's what I found in the 732 user's manual.

Buttons

1. HI/HR – In THERMOMETER MODE, press and hold until the digits flash; press to increase the

maximum BARBECUE temperature. Press and hold for 2 seconds to increase 10 degrees per

second. In TIMER MODE, when the TIMER is stopped, press to set the hour. Press and hold for 2

seconds to increase 10 hours per second.

2. LO/MIN – In THERMOMETER MODE, press and hold until the digits flash, press to increase the

minimum BARBECUE temperature. Press and hold for 2 seconds to increase 10 degrees per

second. In TIMER MODE, when the TIMER is stopped, press to set the minute. Press and hold for

2 seconds to increase 10 minutes per second.

Yeah. I know what the manual says. But that just increases temp, it doesn't lower it. But I also posted on BGE forum and someone suggested that it will recycle once u hit max temps thermo permits so I will try that. The prob is that I think the thermo is impacted by ambient outdoor temp bc as temp dropped thru the night the temp on the mav went down even tho the temp on the egg thermo remained pretty constant. Now that it is morn and sun is coming out there is not as big a dif between egg temp and mav temp.

You can't lower the temps, only raise them. Once you reach the max temp, with the next push of the up button it will go back to it's minimum temp. It's a little clunky, but it does work. What really sucks is when you get distracted and overshoot your desired temperature. Then you have to go ALL the way around again.
