Good morning does amyone have or used the masterbuilt analog model electric smoker and how does it compare to the higher priced models Thanks

Its the Masterbuilt Electric Analogue not analog....

Sorry I haven't used the Electric Analogue, but there is a huge following on SMF for MES masterbuilt smokers. It is the opinion of many there is no need to look further the MES works fine - lasts long time - is good all the time smoker.

I haven't seen much about the analogue. How much have you seen it for? You can get the 30" digital with window at Home Depot for $174 which is lower than the one without the window right now.

Hey Rich and Welcome to the SMF!

I would pony up a few extra bucks for the "Digital" version of the MES. Besides a digital controller, you'll get an insulated box and a better unit.

The analogue smoker will get hotter, close to 400 degrees. But it does not have insulation so it will lose heat faster. You have to open the door to load wood chips. It is not as pretty as the digital unit, but it does the same job in my opinion.

The higher heat on the analogue smoker could be due to the fact that it is rated at rated 12.5A and it has a 1500 Watt heating element.

I think the wattage really only deals with how fast it heats up. I think the thermostat location and the cycle temp is what would determine max temp... Maybe?
