Hello - im new to the forum and have a question. I wanted to know if there is a regulator assembly that has a needle valve already on it I can buy or do I have to add the needle valve on myself? Thanks Eric.

From what I've seen, there isn't a regulator assembly with needle valve that you can purchase and install as easily has installing a needle valve yourself. It's a pretty fast process that I'd say takes maybe 10 minutes going slowly, including the time it takes to do a soapy water leak test.

When I did mine, I saw posts 21 and 23 in this thread: http://www.smokingmeatforums.com/t/188229/needle-valve-mod/20 and I liked the idea of adding more length to my propane hose so I went with that. I'm really happy with my setup and I can nail the common cook temps like 225, 250, 275 without any issue.

The more commonly used needle valve is made by Bayou Classic available here:

No problem! What did you end up going with? The Bayou Classic valve, or the LASCO one?

I went with the Lasco like you recommended. Got it today hooked it up and am doing a test run right now, been at 217 for 45-hr. Looks like my problems are solved thanks to you and I can focus on smoking zome good food with a cold beverage in my hand!!
