Hey everyone, first time poster here. I was given a used Masterbuilt 2 door gas smoker. I didn't look the gift horse in the mouth and just accepted it. Turns out the bottom is all rusted away. The burner is barely hanging on (see the picture). I was thinking I could fabricate some sort of new bottom, but I don't even know what it's supposed to look like. I found some drawings in the owner's manual pdf, but they're not the best. What do you guys think? Is it worth putting any time and money into this smoker or just scrap it?

Thanks!

Scrap the propane burner , but a metal plate in the bottom to cover the hole. Buy an electric heating element and your in buisness.
Old cookie sheet would do the trick. 0506201954_HDR.jpg

Thanks for the ideas! They're getting the gears turning in my head. I never considered an electric conversion or a cold smoke chamber. Going electric over gas might be more my style anyway. Time to start researching!
