Well, those have different features, from what I read.
The adventure series at Bass Pro has a meat probe, I didn't see that with the HD model.

Home Depot $139.00 online price. Just took printout to store and they matched it. Or do buy online and pick up in store. It range up at $230.

$139 is a good price for that Hybrid, but I'd never pay over $170 for any MES 30, especially without a window.

That's a good price.
If the meat probe is no better than the one that came with my MES 30 Gen 1, then not having Masterbuilt include it with the MES is VERY considerate of them--just one less thing to put in the landfill.

Masterbuilt could definitely go without the built in meat probe, and "should".
Mine just stay in their sheath 24-7-365.

LOL! Bear, the one in the new-to-me sweet old MB Smokehouse is permanently smoked into it's holster.
Kinda sez a lot about it's usefulness. It was left to be assimilated into the wall.

Yeah, I just would never trust one of them.
Some guys say theirs works, but even if mine did work when I test it, I wouldn't trust it to work the next time I use it, after testing it. I just don't trust them. I figure as long as they stay in their sheath, they shouldn't hurt anything.

They should have made them a plug in accessory.

Yup, but they keep putting them in there, so they can brag about their smokers having a built in Meat Probe.
They must think they're accurate, and stay that way.

Buyers get all excited that they're getting a smoker with a built in meat probe, but then it doesn't take them long to get disappointed that they aren't accurate.

It's not a huge problem if your smoker probe is 20° off, but it would be a serious problem if you use a meat probe that is 10° or 20° off!!!

I for one would be pleased if I could "unplug" mine without causing an electrical problem, like the one I would have if I went and cut it out!!!

I got the adventure series 40 inch for 30 bucks more from basspro $169.00 just before the holidays and it was back ordered. It showed up day after christmas. Mine did not come with a temp probe. It is no longer showing up as something that they sell on bass pro. I also purchased a 30 adventure series (same one shown
in original post) from sams club online for my father in law using a holiday coupon from a mailer for $169 with 50 bucks off. It too came without the probe. Called a Mes 133s
