Has anyone converted from the stock LP tank to a home system?

I already have a home LP system running to fireplace and grill -- it would be convenient to come off this line to the smoker -- any issues and thoughts would be appreciated.

I have propane heat for my home. I just T'd off the gas line on the low pressure side (after the regulator). Put a valve and a quick connect fitting. You can get quick connects at local gas house BBQ supply. I then took regulator off my gas grill. Put a length of rated hose from grill to mating quick connect. I can "unplug" the grill and move it away when not in use. Haven't bought bottled propane in many years.

Thanks -  Figured it would be no problem -- but was not sure what the MF manual means when it says "This unit is not to be utilized with a non-self contained LP gas supply system."
