Making my mom a care package.

First off thanks everyone for the thought and prayers. I got the first two racks ready and got the smoker started.

Hope everything goes well with your mom's treatment.

My mom in law completed hers about 6 months ago.

To take some burden off my in laws during her year long treatment I grilled chicken breasts for them. Individually vac packed and froze them. That way my father in law could make quick reheated meals. No seasoning on the plain. That way he could season his and my mother in law could eat them too. The spices weren't working for her during treatment.

I still have one and half racks in the smoker. But package is almost done probably two to three more bags of jerky. Hope mom likes it

Thanks again to everyone that commented and thanks again for the kind words. This has been the most therapeutic cooks I have done and posts. Thanks again everyone. O yeah F@$& cancer.

I agree, f@$& cancer. But keep the faith, it can and probably will be beaten. Especially these days. I beat prostate cancer, hopefully, (3 yrs now) and my next door neighbour beat breast cancer after radiation and chemo. He's ( yes HE) has been free for 10 years. Prayer often does work!!

I wish your moither the best and I hope she enjoys the jerky! Chemo has come a long way it seems - my father just finished his course of chemo and had very little side effects. One day of slight nausea and still has most of his hair. (A lot more hair than most of his friends that haven't undergone chemo!)
