Same in North Idaho. The ski resorts are really hurting. And I’m getting tired of doing endless laps on the one or two runs that are open.
No one in our fam has been up yet. Its gonna be a scary summer if it doesnt start dumping snow and rain in the spring.

3 people have died in a couple weeks skiing in CO, gotta wonder if its the concrete ice they are riding on. All three only involved the person who died, no tree hits, human collisions etc.

We got about an inch at our house, but town didn't get sqat. Its been colder though. Got some green chili & ribs on the menu for Sunday. Hope everyone stays safe out there.

Made some beef stew today with my daughter...

Granddaughter is 9 months old today... grandma couldn't feed her carrots, and taters fast enough!
As far as weather, we are pretty lucky. Had a dusting of snow last Wednesday, but no snow or rain here now. Just negative digits at night, made it to 6 degrees F today, not bad without much wind.
Hope the rest of you stay safe and keep your electricity on!

Ryan

Since I last posted, we've gotten three inches, big flakes coming down. Nothing to worry about, though. It has stopped. Will have to see if we get anymore tonight to decide if I have to break out the snow blower tomorrow. The sun has gone down and the temp is following. Supposed to be in the negatives tonight.

Guess I'll add what my wife is making in the kitchen as I type this in front of the wood stove. She is making chicken tenders from boneless/skinless breasts, and they are by far the BEST chicken tenders I have ever had in my life. Light breading well seasoned with ranch dressing for the dipping sauce. The bad thing about them is I eat them so fast, one right after the other, that I don't realize how much I stuff down my gullet until I go to get up. At least I have sweat bottom on for dinner.

In NW Oregon, we have had a long spell of dry, sunny, cold (for us, 28 degrees) and windy weather. Hell I'm still mowing the damned lawn every week. That mower should have been hibernating for months by now. The mountains are really suffering for snow pack. I have daffodils that should bloom this week - two months early. Nuts.

Same to you Neighbor. We got the ice they predicted, still sleeting now. No plans to go outside, let alone on the road. It's 30' feels like 18 they are saying. Tonight into Monday supposed to re ice everywhere.

Have had an odd winter here in SE ID. Not much snow other than a few dustings here and there. Haven’t even had the side by side out to plow this year which is beyond strange. There been years I’ve shoveled off the roof and didn’t need the ladder to get back down. Just step off. Though we are not in the path, did get a bit of snow last night and still snowing a bit. Temps have been lows in the teens and highs around upper 20’s to mid 30’s for the most part recently.

Thinking some elk chili might be in order for the day.

8° and just starting to flake a little, looking at 15" or so locally as there isn't going to be a rain/snow line which is typical of being coastal because of the temps.

It's all indoor cooking today.Wish I had smoked my wings yesterday and then I could've just finished them in the airfryer today but that isn't happening now.Forgot the chourico last time I shopped and I don't have the patience to deal with the milk and egg crowd and go get some, just doesn't seem right not to have fries and chourico along with the wings though.

As is so typical of our weather forecast, or I call it a "guess", it was wrong. Not nearly as bad as they guessed it would be which I'm thankful for. No snow, very little rain, temps in the mid 20s...

still no snow here, but woke up to -5 temps. its not near as fun when its cold with no snow...its like half the package.

Snowmageddon here in sw mo with calls of 10-18” snow was a dud. Ended up with about 3”. Do have the bitter cold with single digits though. Put gas in the snowblower for nothing. Should have sold it before moving from CO. Only used it once in six and half years.

I'd guess 4 inches here so far with steady snow all day and heaviest bands this afternoon. I imagine we will get 8" or more. Here is our lovely temp forecast for the next 10 days. My radiant heat in the living room and dining room that have large bay windows won't keep temp over 66. Supplementing with my mini splits that have a heat function.
