lump/briquettes mix

is it ok to mix lump charcoal with briquettes if i am running low on lump in my fire....i assume its ok bit i am not sure...thanks for all the help so far
 
Some times it is preferred. Lump tends to burn hot and fast were as briquettes burn pretty even. So the idea is if you mix them you can get the smoker up to temp quicker with lump and hold her steady with the briquettes

Go for it just do not forget the pictures

Good advice from Cheech. Write down everything you did in a log. Amount, mix, etc.
