LP Tank buiild question.

Hey guys, i've been looking for a propane tank and I finally found some at a local scrapyard. He wants 300 bucks for a 250 gallon tank. I thought this seemed pretty high but wanted to ask you guys.

A used usable tank goes for $1 a gallon here.

Its been difficult to find any tanks here in Indiana. I was able to track down a 325 gallon tank in Ohio for $175 that I used for my build. I am picking up another 250 gallon tank tonight for $100. Criagslist is the best place I have found.

I guess you have to ask yourself if you are willing to pay that much for one.....or wait around for a better deal. If it were me I would buy it. Good Luck.

Usually 50 cents per gallon for scrap tanks that can no longer be used for propane.

You use to be able to find 250 gal propane tanks for $80 to $100 bucks all day long, but since everybody started building smokers, they have gone up to $150 to $200  and up if you can find them
