Even though new, are they marked food safe? Apparently there is supposed to be a symbol stamped on the drum? Cup & fork or similar.

Honestly, I've bever been too concerned with that. A good burn out should remove any nasties left behind. Shit...the one my uncle used for 20+ years had trans fluid in it. ATF +4 makes a good undertaste for brisket....there, you got my secret outta me. 😆
 
I'd make sure they aren't galvanized( or some other plating that may have heavy metals ). They look awfully corrosion free for having been outside?
