My family and I visited my brother in Kansas last week and he smoked a pork loin on a Brinkmann electric. It was delicious. He also informed us that what we do up here is 'grilling' not 'BBQ'.
We then drove to Ohio and back. On the return trip we stopped in at Pappy's Smokehouse in St. Louis for a fantastic meal. Since I'm on this forum you can probably tell I'm hooked and will soon be buying a smoker.
The ones available locally are the Masterbuilt Electric Digital and a Bradley Electric (non-digital). I'm leaning towards getting the MEC (looks like a 1st gen, controls on top at back?) and ordering an AMNPS.
Any suggestions?
I'm also a new hunter and would like to try and make some jerky in the fall, and use the smoker for wild meats (mostly WT deer).
Cheers,
Bob
