Looking to perfect burnt ends. Hoping there are some good techniques and recipes out there.

Last time I did them, I over did 50% of them and they weren't as sweet as I wanted.

Few pics below from my last smoke on a GMG DB.

 
Only pic that showed up on this end is what appears to be a brisket flat. You want the point to make burnt ends. Lot more fat in them. Tough to over due them.
 
I like to use chuck for burnt ends but...
I mix 1/2 cup brown and raw sugar + 1/4 cup mild chili powder + 1 1/2 TBS ancho or Chipotle chili powder.
I add about 1TBS of this.mix per pound of cooked chopped ends with a little beer to mix easier.
Then add your favorite bottled sauce...how much is depends on your personal taste
If you're looking for sweet, you can't go wrong with sweet baby Ray's...want to punch it up a bit mix 1:1 with Stubs original.
