Was watching this....

while grilling some steaks on the BGE. Spoke to the helicopter pilot when he landed in the field in front of our place. He said the fire started right behind someones trailer. He said it looked like it was a trash fire. Come on folks....we have been hovering around 100* for a few days...had close to 0 snow this winter...and a very dry spring. And you decide to burn trash??? Seriously, how stupid are you?? Went and shook the hand of the copter pilot and several of the fire fighters. Talk about a thankless job. Having to put there lives at risk because of a dumbass...

Copter pilot told me that there is several dozers and a water line around half of the fire. He said on his last dump he only seen one small area burning...

Not even 2 miles from us this time....

Hey, I know what you mean. When we lived out in the country, on the back side of my pasture were a couple of mobile homes. We were having a pretty dry and hot summer. The idiot started burning his trash barrel and left. I got a call at work from the kids saying my pasture was on fire.

They had the water hoses doing what they could the fire department got their truck stuck, in the hay meadow, the kids and their friends had most of it out by the time I got there and they got the truck unstuck, They got it stopped about 20 feet from my barn, but burned up about half of a 16 ft feeder I just built and a bunch of fence. When I finally got a hold of the idiot who started it, the first thing he said was, "I'm out of work, I don't have any money and I don't have any insurance". The Mobile home next to him, the fire burned up their AC unit and scorched their house. I told the jerk he needed to start by getting his neighbors AC unit replaced and buying both my kids and their friends new tennis shoes they ruined putting out HIS fire, and not to worry about my stuff I'd take care of it. He never did a cotton picking thing . I ended up buying all the kids new shoes, had a buddy that had a used AC unit that he gave me, Took my 16' feeder and made an 8 footer out of it and replaced the fence myself.  There are a lot of Idiots and Jerks out there

Now I'm not the smartest guy around, but my favorite saying is : It amazing to me  every morning when I  walk out the door and see just how many idiots it is in this world.

2/3 of the population is wandering around wondering, "what stupid I can do next". The stupidity of the masses continues to amaze me. Joe

Shocking statistics suggest that 9 out of 10 drivers you meet on the road are sober - and they still drive like fools.

Along that same line, 90% of registered voters believe that wrestling is real.

Also, how would you like to be wrongly accused of murder and know that you will be tried by 12 people who are not smart enough to get out of jury duty.

I watch wrestling....but I know why it is called Sports Entertainment...

I sent an email to a reporter for one of the local TV news crews. Much to my surprise she showed interest in meeting with me to discuss the fire and that dumbass boat dock that was put in. We live in a "private" community. Our roads are not maintained but the county, but by us. A boat dock was put in at the bottom of our community. The land is owned by Avista, the water is maintained by DNR...or so I was told. Anyhow...there is no running water at this dock/campsite. And there is no cell service. No local fire department. In my opinion this is a disaster waiting to happen, considering how dry it is. Remove the fire risk....Avista has told our road association that they will not be contributing to the maintenance on our roads....nor will they be assisting in picking up any of the ever increasing trash on the side of the road leading to this dock. As it is the roads are generally in poor condition. And that is without the added traffic load of people going to and from this dock.

Few weeks ago there was a young lady hauling a** on the dirt road in front of us. She would blast by...and about 15 minutes later be back. I noticed that at the end of the road she was going down to the boat dock. I grabbed a chair...and my 12 gauge.....and sat by my gate....waiting,....she came flying down the road.....until she seen me standing there with the 12 gauge pointed in her direction....she slowed to a crawl....turned to head to the boat dock at the end of the road...and was never seen again. Before any one says to call the cops...we are policed by the Stevens County Sheriffs department....last tax statement we got stated that the Sheriffs department consists of the sheriff and 7 deputies...911 response time is over an hour.....and as a general rule they will not respond to a call unless it is an actual emergency. Shooting weapons is permitted on your land. When I asked about firing a weapon in close proximity to occupied buildings I was told there is no law prohibiting this here. Hell, we do not even have a noise ordinance. So calling the cops for someone speeding down a private road is just going to fall on deaf ears.

I talked to a deputy when I was renewing my CCW. I asked him what I should do if someone is attempting to break into my home...he pointed at my paper work and said he assumes that I have a firearm or tow...based upon my need for a CCW. He suggested I use the weapon to defend myself..after telling me this he chuckled and said a gun in the hand is better than a cop on the phone.....Gotta love unincorporated counties...
