Little Valentines treat!

So this year we decided to stay home and have a nice steak dinner with our two kiddos.
Our Sams club just started carrying prime meat and we happened upon some prime beef tenderloin, 4 good sized hunks for $36.

Here is the plate shot on my steak.
Some of the best I’ve ever had and for sure that I’ve cooked.

Looks great! My SAM’S Club has just recently started carrying some PRIME cuts too. Maybe this is a trend nationwide. Never seen it there before. Like!

Ours started carrying prime about a month ago.

Had some prime New York strips, ate them before I got a pic but it was the best strip I’ve ever had.
Prime is the real deal!

Damn that’s my kinda steak right there. The more red the better! Did you smoke at all or just sear it on the grill? With great cuts of meat like that I usually tend to sear real good on my grill then pull it at 120ish and let the carryover temp get it up to perfectly done. Getting me hungry

Hey SmokingVOL!
I just threw it on my gas grill at like 500 degrees and cooked each side for a bit until the IT hit 130. Rested for a few minutes and dug in. Having a nice instant read thermometer sure helps. I have a javelin pro duo. Only $50 and seems to work just about as fast as the thermopen for $100. Give it a try.
The meat was probably a good 1.5- 2 inches thick and oh so yummy.
