Going to give her good cleaning than reseason than play with intakes try to keep it around 275 that temp like cook at any suggestions?

How can tell stack fully open?

Most off sets have a rod welded to the shaft that runs through the stack.When the rod is horizontal it is closed and when it is vertical it is wide open.

Most off sets I know of have a straight rod welded to the shaft that goes through the stack.When the rod is horizontal it is closed off. When it is straight up and down it is wide open.

If the cook chamber door is leaking, you might consider installing a high temp stove gasket around the door.This will help seal the door and make it a little easier to operate and control your temps.You can find the gaskets at stores like Tractor Supply,Lowes, and Home Depot or any other stores that sale wood stoves in your area.Have Fun
