Didn't what to try this on my parents.

Plus my wife was shopping and didn't have any turkey.

So I am doing one.

Dried for 24 hours in the fridge.

Then some cold smoke using the 6" tube from Todd with pitmasters pellets.

After two hours.

Yup, looks the same as the before smoke but smells great.

Wrapped up til tomorrow.

Stay tuned.

Looks slightly darker & looks like the skin tightened up a little more ! But maybe that due to a few beers...., :ROTF

You are right now that I look close.

A few beers. :sausage: Only had a couple when the pics were taken. :beercheer:

Getting the oil hot.

DAMN!! We need smell-a-vision to really appreciate this, cause I am saying its gonna be killer!
You arent kidding.    Smell is awesome.

But I didnt have enough oil to cover the bird so I am gonna have to flip it when the breast is done, maybe.

Just the tail and leg bones arent covered.

Well it was kinda a fail.

The fried turkey was great but no smoke flavor.

I have to continue this experiment.

Still was a great tasting turkey.

Oh well.
